Snooker Cues

With cues endorsed by all the greats of the game, Ken Doherty, John Higgins, Jimmy White and the irrepressible Ronnie O' Sullivan, we have a magnificent selection of BCE Snooker Cues for sale as well as Riley cues and other makes of equal top class quality and value. With low prices from a relatively cheap cue at £30 to the expensive Riley snooker cues at £140 with pearlised inlays (they look terrific, take a look here) we have something for everyone from the beginner to the more discerning player and you can purchase with confidence at a reasonable price.

Nearly all snooker or billiards cues come with the 9.5 mm blue diamond tip, recognized in the sport as the best tip for snooker or billiards ( and most pool cues are this sized tip as well, though some pool players prefer a smaller 8 mm tipped cue ) We have a selection of cue tips on the site as well. The more expensive models of cue have the Rapid Release Joint, for ease of coupling the 2 cue pieces together.

As to which is the best snooker cue for you, as ever it all comes down to price. But be aware that a snooker cue is just a piece of wood, providing you get a cue with a good tip like a blue diamond or elkmaster, and has a ferrule around the tip end to protect the cue when changing tips you cannot go far wrong. The expensive cues will not play any better than a £40 cue, they just look so much better :-). Remember also to look after the tip and change it when it gets too hard or is miss-shaped, after all it is probably the most important part of the cue.

For snooker cues it is best to get the 3/4 length cues so you can make use of the cue extensions available to increase the length of the cue, very handy for those rest shots where you are just stretching to make the shot. Much better than using the long tackle cues that hide underneath the tables.

A most vital piece of snooker and pool equipment, choose the one that looks right for you, all cues come in light medium and heavy, from 16 1/2 ozs to 19 ozs, with the most popular being the medium weight, 17 1/2 to 18 ozs I would also recommend the 9.5 mm tip for all the UK billiards games, for both pool and snooker, the 8 mm tip is too small for all except the experienced players.

Choosing your Snooker Cue

Before you buy your next snooker cue, there are things to look out for when choosing your cue. Firstly make sure that the cue has a ferrule at the top of the cue beneath the tip, so that the cue is protected when changing the tip. Also a 3/4 cue is best if you are going to use cue extensions to increase the length of your cue and make sure the cue has a good quality tip, like the blue diamond tip that is on just about all of the BCE and Riley cues. If you like the idea of using a smart extender which is a very popular extension these days, make sure your cue will take one, most of the 3 piece cues already come with them included.

The standard weight of cues is approximately 18 oz which is the most popular weight and is recommended. You can specify lighter (17 oz) or heavier (19 oz ) if you want, just phone through to specify a different weight to standard. As to the length of the cue, they all come in a length of 57 inches which is the standard length and should be OK for everyone. After that anything goes, just choose one you like the look of.

And don't forget the cue case to protect your Snooker cue when traveling. The type of case needed is on most of the cue descriptions on the site, as the cue case you need will depend on the type of cue, either a 50/50 split or a 3/4 split. We often have special offers on the cues with our regular sales offers and promotions, so keep coming back to check for discounts on the cues and get it a bit cheaper. We value your custom and will always strive to give you the cheapest deals making it as easy on your pocket as possible.
